Eclectic Dreams

As a newlywed, I watch HGTV religiously. In the process, I have successfully put together my dream home. Take a look below. WARNING: May incite daydreams!

If you love open cabinets, try a mid-century modern table with clean lines. Open cabinets already make a kitchen look busy. Thick furniture will weigh down the room and take it from interesting to cluttered.

Open kitchens with subway tile give the space an urban feel. Sticking with grays, black and light blue will add to the industrial feel, but the pops of color add the perfect touch to this kitchen.

The black and white tile below warms up the industrial sink. This kitchen reminds us of something you would see in an Italian family restaurant. And that light? Yes, please!

We are absolutely loving gallery walls, but never thought of doing one in the bathroom! Don't you love it when design surprises you?

It's OK to do an eclectic living room as long as you stay within a strict color combination. Gold, pink and black is the perfect palette for timeless glamour. I've found myself really drawn to blue, gray and coral with gold accents right now. What color combos are you loving right now?

The decor makes a house look pretty, but personal touches make it feel like home. A bookcase wall and photos in frames is a great way to do both. Picking frames in different sizes in one color allows for the eclectic look without drowning the eye. Noticing a trend? It's all about finding that happy medium.

One of the first things Josh and I bought after the wedding was a new bed. We knew we wanted something unique, but weren't sure what style we wanted. We finally found our inspiration in a beautiful light blue velvet bed that reminds me of vintage glamour. Elizabeth Taylor would be proud.
If you're going to do a colored bed, try white bedding. It allows the bed to stand out! So, there's my home inspiration. Remember, eclectic can be beautiful, but it's all about that happy medium.
